Delivery: Face-to-face | Duration: Half day
Foundations of Trauma Responsive practice training is designed to build a shared understanding of trauma, stress, behaviour and human connection across the Tasmanian State Service.
The program recognises that trauma responsiveness is not solely relevant for frontline workers or specialist practitioners. Contemporary public sector work increasingly occurs in environments characterised by complexity, uncertainty, high demand, stakeholder pressure and human interaction.
The workshop provides practical tools that participants can immediately apply in interactions with colleagues, teams, stakeholders and service users, while supporting sustainable workforce wellbeing and psychologically safe workplace cultures.
Learning outcomes:
By the end of this course, you will be able to:
- Understand the impacts of trauma and stress on behaviour
- Recognise nervous system responses in themselves and others
- Apply trauma responsive communication strategies
- Strengthen psychological safety and connection
- Build sustainable practices that support wellbeing and performance
- Contribute to safer, more responsive workplace cultures
Who should attend?
This training is for all levels, particularly those who require a foundational understanding or would like to refresh their knowledge.
