Has it been more than 12 months since you attended Contact Officer training?
If you already have a good understanding of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1998 (Tas) and have previously trained as a Contact Officer, this half-day session will refresh your skills with the latest information and case studies.
Bi-annual refresher training is strongly encouraged for everyone undertaking the Contact Officer role in Tasmanian businesses and organisations.
Learning outcomes
This course will support you to:
- Refresh your knowledge of the principles of the Contact Officer role and how to put them into practice in your workplace
- Demonstrate the latest best practice methods for providing confidential information and support to colleagues
- Operate confidently in accordance with the policies and procedures of your workplace, the Anti-Discrimination Act 1998 (Tas), and other relevant legislation
- Continue undertaking the Contact Officer role in your workplace.
If you aren’t already a member, you will also automatically join the Contact Officer Network managed by the Office of the Anti-Discrimination Commissioner and gain access to regular free networking events.

Ange Bain is a Training and Education Officer with the Office of the Anti-Discrimination Commissioner, delivering practical, engaging training to corporate and government organisations across Tasmania. With over 30 years of national experience in education and workforce development, Ange has worked across government, not-for-profit, and community services sectors. She specialises in making complex topics, such as Discrimination Law, workplace behaviour, and compliance, clear, relevant, and applicable to a range of environments. Passionate about inclusion and equity, Ange is committed to helping organisations create courteous, safe and diverse workplaces, where everyone can thrive.

Davan Ong is a Community Engagement and Education Officer at the Office of the Anti‑Discrimination Commissioner. In this role, he delivers free community education to schools, nonprofits, clubs, volunteer networks, and community groups, as well as tailored fee‑for‑service training for government departments, and corporate organisations. Davan brings extensive experience from the humanitarian sector, along with a diverse background in hospitality, community services, and international trade. He is committed to building inclusive, informed, and respectful communities through meaningful engagement and practical education.
