Delivery: Face-to-face | Duration: 2 days

This two-day course is designed for those with basic policy skills who want to extend their knowledge in making modern public policy. It covers the emerging policy toolkit, complexity within the policy environment, as well as how policy makers intersect and interact with the politics of government.

Day one concentrates on key concepts and creating a 'check list' of policy considerations that analysts should be aware of when developing policy. Day two then uses a 'policy case study' to test and expand the learning, while developing clarity around policy goals.

During this course you will be able to increase your policy knowledge and gain a better understanding of the wider political authorising environment that underpins the modern public sector policy-making environment.
