Delivery: Face-to-face | Duration: 1 day

Established by convention rather than the Constitution, Cabinet is the group of Ministers that determine government direction. Cabinet decides what legislation is introduced and which programs or policies are adopted in Tasmania. Cabinet and its processes are bound by principles of solidarity and confidentiality so that political executives may have free discussion of issues in the best interests of our State.

While maintaining Cabinet confidentiality, this course will take you behind the scenes of how Cabinet operates. You will learn how to identify when matters should go to Cabinet, what the elements of high-quality Cabinet advice are, and how to write and frame advice so it gets through Cabinet processes and supports the Premier and Ministers in their important Cabinet roles.

Designed by policy professionals and people with first-hand experience of the inner workings of Cabinet, this is an interactive course that provides practical tips and tools to help you in your day-to-day work.
