This three-hour interactive course is designed to build the confidence and capability of people leaders in supporting neurodivergent team members.
You will develop practical skills to respond appropriately to neurodiversity disclosures, lead respectful and supportive care conversations, and implement reasonable adjustments that enable individuals to perform at their best and leverage their strengths.
Through group discussions, activities, and case studies, you will explore different types of neurodiversity, a model of supportive leadership behaviours, and the boundaries of the leader role – reinforcing that you don’t need to be therapists or psychologists to be a supportive leader.
You will walk away with practical resources, and a deeper understanding of how your leadership approach can positively shape your team’s workplace experience.
Learning outcomes
By the end of this course, you will be able to:
- Clearly define what neurodiversity is vs. what it is not, and describe the different type of neurodiversity
- know the benefits of a neuro-inclusive workplace for individuals, teams and organisations.
- Understand your role as a leading in fostering inclusion, psychological safety and equitable work practices.
- Confidently manage disclosures and conduct early intervention conversations in a supportive and appropriate way.
- Identify and apply reasonable adjustments
- Navigate available support and escalation pathways within your organisation.
