Delivery: Face-to-face | Duration: Full-day | Level: Mid-level

We’re living in a time where public trust in institutions is low, and digital and social media can expose issues instantly. This puts more pressure on governments and organisations to be transparent, accountable, and ready to respond when problems arise.

This course is designed to equip leaders and communication professionals with the tools and strategies to manage issues and crises effectively. Over one day, you will learn how to protect your organisation’s reputation by using clear communication, proper processes, and a smart, multi-channel approach across digital, editorial, and social media communication.

You will also gain an understanding of how to assess the impact of emerging issues, as well as how to get ahead to the game through crisis communication planning.

Learning outcomes

By the end of this course, you will be able to:

  • understand your organisation’s reputation risk environment and how to coordinate a multi-channel approach to issues/crisis management through digital, editorial and social media communication.
  • think proactively through crisis communication planning – preparing for a range of issues before they emerge, while ensuring alignment within your organisation.
  • assess the seriousness/impact of a particular emerging issue or crisis using defined risk levels.
  • understand how to identify key audiences and stakeholders in connection with an issue, and the most effective means of communicating with them, including communication channel analysis.
