This two-day skills-based course will equip you with practical tools for use in the workplace, following investigative best practice. It will help you develop your skills in investigative principles, investigation planning, record keeping and information collection techniques.

- Identify and interpret the relevant legislation, powers and responsibilities
- Use skills to identify non-compliance
- Manage the investigation process and understand risk management principles
- Understand the ‘Intelligence’ frameworks and the concept of ‘intelligence driven investigations’
- Prepare for respondent engagement including interview protocols
- Apply record keeping practices in a regulatory environment
- Apply brief preparation process and investigation reporting protocols
- Describe the judicial process and procedures, including giving evidence in court.

Presenter - Pat Seccull (Sydney Institute of Professional Studies)
Pat has over 20 years of investigations experience, specialising in the delivery of statutory compliance, fraud control and investigation training. He has a broad range of experience in program development, delivery and evaluation activities across various public sector organisations, and has provided both strategic and technical advice to develop high level governance, compliance and regulatory frameworks. This included brokering joint agency fraud investigations and leading to the development of departmental investigation and intelligence capability.
