Join Professor Peter Shergold AC and invited panel guests in a thought provoking discussion about the future of the public sector in Australia. As part of a national event series, this discussion will help inform and contribute to the public debate on a national level.
Key themes include how the public sector can be agile and responsive, provide fit-for-purpose advice and equitable and accessible services – all in the face of major challenges such as:
  • climate change
  • natural disasters
  • disruptive technologies, and
  • growing public mistrust.
There will be opportunities to listen, ask questions and engage in debate.
Professor Peter Shergold AC is one of Australia's most preeminent public servants and academics, with a distinguished career spanning over three decades. A few of his many achievements include; leading several federal government agencies during a 20 year timeframe, and holding the positions of Public Service Commissioner 1995-1998 and Secretary, Department of Prime Minister and Cabinet 2003-2008.
